the largest tree canopy in the US and third-largest in the world covers the tapestry of Sacramento’s rich history from Maidu Indians to conquistadors, from gold rush fortune hunters to the diverse cultures of immigrants from all over the world. Rich layered story of the city is embedded in the elements found in the streets and interiors.

The overall design direction for Sheraton Grand renovation follows the idea of the tree canopy allowing for nature-inspired elements and materials to tie together various spaces of the hotel. Lighting concept is based on the idea of filtered playful light coming through the tree leaves and branches and highlighting various interior elements.
